Debts for OSHEE bills slightly reduced - Stock of arrears reaches 79.33 billion

The total debt that customers have towards the Electricity Distribution Operator decreased very slightly during the first 4 months of 2025, compared to December 2024.

According to official data from the Energy Regulatory Authority, the value of unpaid obligations to OSHEE by household customers, state institutions, water utilities and businesses by the end of April 2025 reached 79.33 billion lek, down from 80.43 billion lek at the end of 2024.

This decrease in total debts comes as a result of the decrease in unpaid liabilities, from businesses, families and state institutions, which are the 3 categories that have registered a decrease in liabilities during the 4-month period. Meanwhile, the debt stock for non-budgetary clients, which includes water utilities, increased.

Thus, for the business category, debt decreased to 9.64 billion lek, from 10.34 billion lek at the end of 2024. The stock of arrears for family members decreased to 44.67 billion lek, from 45.48 billion lek, while for state institutions, the level of unpaid energy bills at the end of April 2025 reached 5.03 billion lek, from 5.05 billion lek 4 months ago.

As for the non-budgetary category, arrears reached 19.98 billion lek at the end of the first quarter of 2025, from 19.55 billion lek at the end of December 2024.
