Traveling to Albania? Albanian Customs informs about the rules and limits for

Albanian Customs has informed today through social networks that travelers entering Albanian territory can bring with them goods for personal use or as gifts, without customs duties, respecting the limits set in the customs legislation in force.

According to published information, the maximum value of goods that can benefit from customs exemption is 300 euros for travelers arriving by land, 430 euros for those traveling by air or sea, and 150 euros for travelers under the age of 15.

The Department of Home Affairs informs that goods allowed for personal consumption without customs duties also include limited quantities of products such as tobacco and alcoholic beverages.

Specifically, travelers can bring up to 200 cigarettes, or 100 cigarillos, or 50 cigars, or 250 grams of tobacco.

For alcoholic beverages, it is allowed to bring one liter of beverages with an alcohol percentage of more than 22% or two liters of beverages with an alcohol percentage of less than 22%, except for two liters of still wine and up to ten liters of beer.

Also, up to three kilograms of coffee may be allowed for personal use.

However, travelers under the age of 17 do not benefit from the exemptions related to alcohol and tobacco.

In cases where travelers bring goods that exceed the allowed limit, it is mandatory that they be declared to customs authorities.

For goods that are not of a commercial nature, a simplified declaration procedure applies.

Customs authorities have the right to inspect passengers' luggage and goods at any time, to verify compliance with the law and to prevent the illegal entry of goods into Albanian territory.

These measures have been put in place to ensure fair border management and to facilitate the movement of travelers who respect the rules.
