Foreign tourists in Albania/ Rama: $4.8 billion in spending in 2024!
The country's Prime Minister, Edi Rama, declared today during his 'Sy m'Sy' column on social networks that in Albania the weight of tourism for 2024 is estimated at 26% of GDP.
Rama published the report on Albania from the World Travel and Tourism Council, a completely independent international institution that produces reports for the entire world and that refer to all countries.
"In Albania, the weight of tourism for 2024 is estimated at 26% of GDP. The employment generated by the tourism sector in Albania is 21.8% of the total," he said.
According to the report, the Prime Minister emphasized, "in Albania the growth is estimated at 7.7% compared to the previous year and 47.5, almost 50%, almost double compared to 2019, here in this "our Somalia", as you say."
Regarding employment in the tourism sector, the Chief Executive underlines that it has increased by 14.1% compared to the year before the pandemic, because all measurements in the tourism sector are made by all these organizations in the period before and after the pandemic.
"Foreign tourist spending in Albania in 2024 is estimated at 4.8 billion dollars or about 4.5 billion euros, income from those who come here. And these 4.5 billion euros they leave here. The increase is 54.7%. So an extraordinary increase compared to the year, the level before the pandemic," Rama emphasized.
