Murriz Tunnel opens for traffic - Arbri Road/Travel costs decrease, residents expect agrotourism development
The Murriz Tunnel, the most important work on the Arbri road, has been opened to vehicle traffic, significantly shortening the travel time from Tirana to Dibër and vice versa.
The opening of the tunnel has been welcomed by local residents, who hope that the completion of this investment will also boost the development of agrotourism.
The contract for the construction of the Arbri road was signed in 2018, while the construction of the Murriz tunnel encountered a number of obstacles during construction due to the geological formation, which created delays in the completion of the work. The Arbri road enables a direct connection between Tirana and Dibër, passing through Qafë-Murrizi, Guri i Bardhë, Ura e Vashës towards Bulqiza and Dibër.
From Tirana to Bulqiza it is 50 km long and from Tirana to Bllate 74 km. The construction included several works of art such as bridges and tunnels.
