Electricity distribution tariffs - ERE approves the decision for 2026, how much will be paid according to the voltage level

The Energy Regulatory Authority has decided to keep electricity distribution tariffs unchanged for all customers, for the period 1 May – 31 December 2026. The
ERE board decision provides that the average distribution tariff will remain at 5.89 lek/kWh, while the tariffs according to voltage levels will remain unchanged. Specifically, for customers connected to 35 kV voltage, the tariff will be 1.55 lek/kWh, for those at 0.6–20 kV level 3.99 lek/kWh and for customers at 0.4 kV voltage 6.42 lek/kWh. According to
the analysis conducted by the regulator, the revenues generated from the current tariffs are sufficient to cover the operating costs of the distribution operator and to guarantee the continuity of the service.
However, the ERE highlights that the distribution operator continues to face challenges in terms of finance, as the capital structure is still negative, creating risks for sustainability in the medium term.
The decision also emphasizes the importance of ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply, underlining that the cost of interruptions is higher than any other component in the supply chain, which requires their minimization and improvement of service quality.
Meanwhile, ERE has left open the possibility of a full review of tariffs in the next regulatory period, after analyzing the full financial and technical data for 2025 and the new application of the OSSH for future tariffs.
