Road Safety Strategy, in public consultation - Balluku, invitation to experts: Safer roads for all
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy has opened the public consultation for the National Road Safety Strategy 2026-2030 and the Action Plan 2026-2028. The consultation process is open until October 17.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, in an announcement on social media, invited all stakeholders, from designers and builders to ordinary road users, to provide their opinions and comments on the draft strategy.
The new strategy focuses on improving road safety conditions, reducing the number and severity of accidents, and protecting the lives of all road users.
"Give your contribution and be part of the preparation of a strategy that aims for safer roads for everyone," emphasizes Balluku.
The development of Albania's second Strategy was based on a systematic, evidence-based and comprehensive process, in line with international and EU best practices. The Strategy is designed to meet the objectives of the EU Road Safety Policy 2021-2030 based on the adopted "Vision Zero" and the Safe System Approach.
The Strategy document emphasizes that, “The management of road safety-related data in Albania should be improved in a way that ensures the systematic collection, processing, analysis and dissemination of road safety-related data, because effective road safety data management is essential for identifying trends, assessing the effectiveness of interventions and formulating evidence-based policies.”
