Albanian startups, 31% generate revenue - Report, only 14% have ready-made paid products

The startup ecosystem in Albania is showing an increasingly advanced level of development, with the majority of new ventures having moved beyond the initial idea stage and entering the market.
According to the data from the “Albania Startup Ecosystem Assessment 2025” report, published by Startup Albania, 31% of Albanian startups have managed to generate positive revenue streams. This is also the largest category, indicating that almost one in three startups has already created a financially viable business model.
Meanwhile, 26% of the ventures are still in the development phase, while 22% have a ready-made product, but offer it to users for free. Only 14% have launched paid products.
A smaller portion of startups, around 5%, have a finished product but no users yet, while 3% are only in the concept phase.
In terms of market segment, business-to-business models that reach the end consumer dominate, where a business provides services to another business, which then reaches the end consumer. This model represents 51% of startups.
About 30% operate in the business-to-business model, while 19% address consumers directly through the business-to-consumer model.
The data shows an ecosystem oriented primarily towards collaboration between businesses, but with the main challenge of turning finished products into sustainable sources of income.
