Kavaja Hospital, with new status/ It will now be a "municipal

The "Shefqet Ndroqi" Regional Hospital Center in Kavaja receives the status of Municipal Hospital, an important step taken within the framework of the hospital reform that is being applied to decentralize health services and increase access for citizens, directly influencing the improvement of the quality of care provision for local residents and tourists.

The Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Evis Sala, during an inspection of the renovated premises of the Kavaja Hospital, shared the news that this institution now receives the status of Municipal Hospital, gaining more autonomy in the management and organization of services.

Minister Sala emphasized that this transformation is part of a broader vision to strengthen the healthcare system throughout the country:

"I have come with good news. The Kavajë Regional Hospital Center is being separated from the 'Shefqet Ndroqi' University Hospital and becomes a municipal hospital. It is an innovation, but also a right step within the framework of the hospital reform we are doing in Albania. The whole idea of the hospital reform is that first the service should come as close as possible to the patient and they should receive the service without moving from one hospital to another, as well as to strengthen regional and municipal hospitals."

Also, the new director of the Kavaja Municipal Hospital was introduced, Mr. Arben Rrugia, a well-known medical figure in this city, who will lead the institution in this new phase of development.

In her conversation with doctors and healthcare personnel, the minister appealed for close cooperation, increased service quality, and joint commitment to serve the patient and the needs of the community.

Kavaja Municipal Hospital, with completely renovated facilities and modern conditions, offers improved infrastructural and medical standards, fulfilling the capacities to provide a wide range of health services to the residents of the area and the surrounding areas, as well as to cope with the increased influx during the tourist season.
