Albania, potential for lithium? - Work begins on the Roadmap on Critical and Strategic Raw Materials, the first of its kind
For the first time, our country will have a Roadmap on the Potential of Critical and Strategic Raw Materials.
This roadmap will provide a mapping of the entire raw materials potential in Albania, making an overall assessment of the country's raw materials reserves, including critical and strategic materials.
The preparation of this document is an initiative of the TAIEX (Technical Assistance and Information Exchange) Expert Mission, the Regional Innovation Center "EIT Raw Materials" and with the support of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy.
The preparation of this roadmap will involve institutions such as the National Agency of Natural Resources, the Albanian Geological Survey and TAIEX experts.
It will be the conclusion of this document that will highlight our country's potential in terms of number or concrete reserves, as 34 critical raw materials have been identified in the European Union, the demand for which is expected to increase in the coming decades.
Among them are lithium, cobalt, aluminum, phosphorus, magnesium, manganese, strontium, beryllium, natural graphite, metallic titanium, boron, copper, etc.
