Albania improves education "grade" in 2025/ Satisfaction level

Albanian citizens' satisfaction with educational services has increased slightly in 2025, according to the latest data from Securi Meter for the Six Western Balkans. In Albania, the satisfaction level has increased from 24% in 2024 to 27.6% this year, signaling a somewhat more positive public perception of the quality and accessibility of education in the country.

Although this improvement shows a positive trend, Albania continues to rank below the regional average, which in 2025 stands at 35.9%. At the regional level, the perception of education services has remained largely stable compared to the previous year. The satisfaction rate in the Western Balkans has only suffered a minimal decline, from 36.1% to 35.9%, while dissatisfaction has fallen from 29.6% to 28.4%. This stability indicates that efforts to reform the education sector have yielded limited results and that changes are still slowly being perceived by citizens.

In this context, Albania ranks behind countries such as Kosovo, which leads the region with the highest satisfaction level of 43.7%, as well as behind North Macedonia, which has marked the most significant growth during 2025. However, the growth recorded in Albania distinguishes the country from several other countries in the region, such as Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia, where satisfaction with education has declined.

The data suggest that Albania is in a phase of gradual improvement in public perception of education, but progress remains fragile. Increased investment, improved working conditions for teachers, and adaptation of curricula to labor market needs remain key factors for sustained growth in satisfaction in the years to come.
