How fruitful is the Dual system in Albania? - Ribaj: It makes young people understand the labor market

The dual system, which combines theoretical teaching with direct field practice, is increasingly being considered the "key" to rapid employment of young people. But for this strategy to be truly fruitful in Albania, rigorous supervision is required.
According to professor Artur Ribaj, the model that is successfully applied in countries like Canada, where students are forced to touch the ground before completing the academic cycle, should serve as a guide.
"It's a very good strategy if it works properly. That is, to really carry out the practices, to really supervise and monitor the development of teaching practices and practice in the work environment. It's a strategy that has been applied in developed countries and has been successful, if I refer to Canada again, it's coming towards the obligation for you to interrupt school, try the field work and then return to it. In order for you to see realistically, to connect theory with practice and to see what you need to improve more. We have noticed it especially with master's students who come after having work experience, are much more serious, much more willing to learn more and be available to respond to the tasks, the commitments that the curriculum requires. So this system of communication, it keeps young people on their feet to understand what is needed. But it also puts the teachers in charge "so that they are not simply theoretical, reciting texts and nothing concrete that is necessary for young people today."
In addition to preparing students, the dual system also requires a transformation on the part of the academic staff.
