Shiroka–Zogaj road opens new tourist corridor - Shkodra towards development, Rama: Important investment
The Shiroka-Zogaj road, as it is taking shape day by day, is considered one of the strategic infrastructure investments in northern Albania. This axis, upon completion of the works, is expected to create a new connection between Albania and Montenegro, turning the city of Shkodra into one of the most important nodes of regional and tourist development.
Recent images from the construction site have been published by Prime Minister Edi Rama on social media, showing the progress of the work that is progressing at a rapid pace in the road expansion.
In his reaction, the Prime Minister described this as an important investment that will not only facilitate traffic in the area, but will also promote tourism and cross-border cooperation with Montenegro.
"Work continues at a good pace on the Shiroka-Zogaj road construction site, an important investment that will not only facilitate traffic, but will serve as a new turning point for tourism, with the connection it will create between Albania and Montenegro, positioning Shkodra as the regional capital," writes Prime Minister Rama.
The project is part of a mosaic of investments along the western shore of Lake Shkodra and is expected to have a direct impact on improving the infrastructure and lives of local communities.
The road is 6.5 kilometers long, of which 4.5 kilometers constitute the expansion of the existing road along the lake. Meanwhile, the bypass in the center of Zogaj village is another key segment that will help facilitate traffic and turn the area into an attractive tourist and economic destination.
