Funding for the State Police increases by 701 million lek - Lamallari: More support for officers' salaries

Through the 2026 Budget Normative Act, funding for the State Police is increased by 701 million lekë. Minister of Internal Affairs, Besfort Lamallari, announced that this will serve to strengthen support for officers and investments in the modernization of the institution.
In a post today on social media, he emphasized that the additional funds will also serve for the salaries of State Police employees, investments in technology, the motivation of elite structures, and the acceleration of the process of modernization of the Police according to the best European standards.
"Through the 2026 Budget Normative Act, we increase funding for the State Police by 701 million lekë. More support for the salaries of officers, more investments in technology, more motivation for elite structures and another decisive step towards modernization according to the best European standards. A stronger police force means a safer Albania. This is our commitment and we will move forward with determination ," the minister said.
According to the minister, the increased funding is part of the government's commitment to guarantee a more capable, modern and equipped State Police to face security challenges, in order to protect life, property and public order.
Meanwhile, data on the increase in defense investments show that the budget of this sector has increased from 24.1 billion lek in 2020 to 52.6 billion lek in 2025, while for 2026 it has reached 69.2 billion lek.
