The e-albania platform is renewed - At the beginning of 2025, virtual assistant

"Shaping the Future of GovTech", was the theme of the regional conference, where the focus of the discussion was to encourage debate and discussions about the challenges of the future and the combination of technology and governance in the service of citizens. In this conference, representatives of the governments of the Western Balkans shared their thoughts on technology and innovation, as well as the integration of artificial intelligence in state systems. During her speech, the Director of AKSHI emphasized that at the beginning of 2025, the virtual assistant 3.0 for the services of citizens and businesses will be ready on the e-albania platform.

Mirlinda Karçanaj Director of AKSHI:

"Technology is to make things easier for citizens. Thanks to digitalization, the government can deliver what it has promised. No one had thought that AI would be used for data and taxation, which would accelerate the integration of a country in the EU. These are some of the government's digitization projects. There are 1 million transactions with this assistant. We will have version 2.0 that will come with sound and picture. Next year, when e-albania is live, we will have the virtual assistant 3.0, which will provide direct pro-active services. 2 billion fiscalization transactions analyzed with AI. We have ready the integration module that will enable the transposition of all EU directives and regulations. We have 3.2 million users on the Albania platform. 2.5 mln. electronic services. 18 million euros saved from the pockets of citizens and businesses. The ambitious project is the creation of a modern procurement system with AI and Machine Learning with transparency. The service of the municipalities to the citizens will be transformed."

While Prime Minister Edi Rama in his speech said that Albania will use Artificial Intelligence in the translation of the EU legislation in a record time that will enable the EU membership date to approach compared to other countries.

"The director of AKSHI said that we are doing the EU integration process in the negotiation phase thanks to a new unused instrument, which is a model built by us in AI. This model gives us the opportunity to carry out in a much faster time than other countries of the transfer of the EU legislative body, the translation but also the analysis of the texts for those aspects in the impact of the new laws. It is not about a few hundreds, but thousands. If we consider that until yesterday the pace of legislative work related to this legislation was 60 per year, imagine how long the process would be. We would need a whole army of translators, drafters, proofreaders."

The Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja, emphasized that Albania will be among the first countries in Europe to launch a virtual assistant through e-Albania, which will facilitate services for citizens and businesses.

"We must raise the standards in the field of cyber security. Digitalization must be accompanied by the digitalization of the economy and the way of thinking. We need a coalition between states, partners, start ups. The ambition is much greater than digitization, it is the vision of an advanced European country. I look forward to learning more about spectrum and how to advance it faster. Among the first countries in Europe for the birth of a virtual assistant for e-albania. In 2030, we will have even more to be proud of."
