"Fiscal revolution, VAT will be reduced to 15%" - Berisha, with business: Flat tax and reduction of social security
"Reducing VAT to 15% and restoring the 10% flat tax." These are two of the points of the Democratic Party's program, which according to leader Sali Berisha will give breathing space to the Albanian economy.
During the consultative meeting on the topic: "Developing a platform for sustainable economic development", organized by the Tirana Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Business Associations, Berisha also focused on taxes in the construction sector, promising radical fiscal changes.
Berisha also promised a reduction in social security contributions, as well as protection for businesses affected by exchange rate fluctuations.
Business representatives expressed the need for intervention in terms of legal certainty, undertaking a deep reform in the agricultural sector, or reducing the property sales tax.
The head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Nikolin Jaka, supported the DP's proposal for a 2% reduction, although according to them, even a 5% reduction would be sufficient to give the real estate market a breather.
