Rama: Albania 9th in the world for cybersecurity according to NCSI 2026!

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared today the announcement that Albania has achieved another significant progress in the field of cybersecurity, ranking 9th in the world according to the National Cyber Security Index (NCSI), with a score of 92.5 points.
This positioning represents a significant improvement compared to previous years, reflecting a steady climb from 54th place in 2023 and 15th place in 2025, towards a ranking among the most advanced countries globally in this field.
The NCSI assessment is based on the analysis of national capacities for managing cyber risks, including the legal and policy framework, the protection of essential services, the management of cyber incidents, as well as capacity development and international cooperation.
Albania's score reflects the fulfillment of a wide range of indicators related to institutional organization, incident response, and preventive measures at the national level.
During this period, the responsible structures have successfully managed a series of cyber incidents and threats, strengthening capacities for identification, analysis and response in real time. The experience generated from these cases has directly contributed to improving protection mechanisms and increasing the resilience of information systems at the national level.
According to the report, Albania is appreciated for its progress in strengthening the structures responsible for cybersecurity, developing national policies and strategies, as well as improving coordination mechanisms and response to threats in the digital space.
Ranking at this level confirms Albania's advancement in building a sustainable cybersecurity system and compliance with international standards and best practices in this field.
