Rama presents the vision for the new campus in Durrës: A student space that will operate 24 hours a day

Prime Minister Edi Rama participated in the presentation of the five finalist projects of the international competition for the construction of the new campus of the "Aleksandër Moisiu" University in Durrës, describing this investment as an important step for the modernization of higher education and urban development.
During his speech, Rama said that the organization of international architecture competitions is part of a long-term vision for the transformation of Albanian cities and the creation of modern spaces in service of the community. He praised the cooperation between prestigious international studios and Albanian architects, emphasizing that this process gives young professionals the opportunity to gain experience from the most renowned names in the field.
According to the Prime Minister, the new campus will not be just a university complex where lectures are held, but a vibrant community center, with facilities for study, housing, social and cultural activities, which will be functional throughout the day.
Rama stated that the project aims to create a new model of university life, where students have the opportunity to live, study and socialize in the same environment, improving the quality of their academic experience.
The head of government recalled that some of the investments in higher education came after the dialogue with students during the 2018 protest and the implementation of the University Pact. He underlined that, although investments have been made in dormitories and university infrastructure, the need for housing still remains a challenge for many students.
For this reason, the new campus project also foresees the construction of a residential area, which will offer students accommodation at more affordable costs, reducing the financial burden on families and creating a more integrated university community.
