Center of Excellence for Cybersecurity - Countermeasures against attacks/ How will it work?
The government will have a National Center of Excellence for Cybersecurity.
In the "National Strategy for Cybersecurity 2025-2030", submitted for public consultation, which is an important document that defines the strategic directions for the development and strengthening of cybersecurity in Albania, the creation of the National Center of Excellence for Cybersecurity (NCES) is planned as an innovative center for technological research and development.
The center will enable close cooperation between academia, national and international research centers, and public and private institutions, as well as promote scientific research, talent identification, and their training with the most advanced technologies.
Referring to the document, the focus of this institution will be the development of innovative solutions, such as artificial intelligence, data analysis and cryptography, for the prevention and detection of cyber attacks in real time, with the aim of strengthening national digital security and resilience.
On the other hand, Startups in the field of Cybersecurity will also be supported through access to research resources and professional training, encouraging the creation of innovative technological solutions to address cyber threats and strengthen the national cybersecurity ecosystem.
In parallel with these two measures, funding programs for cybersecurity research and innovation will be developed. These programs will include the creation of specific funds, the provision of fiscal incentives for businesses that invest in secure technologies, and the promotion of public-private partnerships to co-finance innovative projects.
