The bill on pensions reaches the Senate, holds no. S.1340 - Italian Embassy: We welcome the next important step
After the approval by the Chamber of Deputies of the bill for the social security agreement between Italy and Albania, SCAN tv learns that Bill C.1916 A reached the Senate and has the number S.1340. There are about 500,000 Albanians who will benefit from this agreement.
The Italian Embassy in Tirana emphasizes that they welcome another important step regarding the Agreement on Social Security between the two countries, signed in Rome on February 6, 2024 by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Tajani and his Albanian counterpart, Mr. Hasani.
The text, unanimously approved by the Chambers of Deputies, will now pass to the next chamber of Parliament for approval, as provided by the Italian legal order for the passage of a law. After it is approved without changes, only the announcement by the President of the Republic and the publication in the Official Gazette will remain.
The agreement, the Italian Embassy points out, will mark a very important achievement for the employees of both countries, as it will regulate pension benefits and assistance for unemployment, illness and pregnancy, for those who exercise or have exercised an employed or independent activity nē in both countries.
The two countries signed the social security agreement after 15 years of negotiations, from which Albanians working in Italy will benefit from pensions, as well as Italian citizens working in Albania.
