Police, plan of measures for the tourist season - Until September 15, heavy vehicles are restricted on weekends and official holidays
To ensure order and security during the 2025 summer season, the State Police has drafted and is implementing a detailed plan of measures. This plan aims to ensure security in coastal, lake and river areas, facilitate traffic at border crossing points, prevent road accidents and criminal activities, enforce curfews, and protect the environment and tourist areas.
This year, the 12-hour service will only be applied in coastal areas and additional services will be sent to assist local police, which will be compensated according to relevant legislation.
In line with the plan, among other things, police officers on bicycles patrolling the beaches, the Maritime Police unit for controlling and punishing dangerous navigation within prohibited areas, as well as drones that will be used to control the security perimeter on the beaches, as well as to identify and punish traffic violations, have been made available.
At the same time, patrols have been increased in tourist areas to prevent road accidents and ensure the free movement of vehicles. From June 16 to September 15, 2025, the circulation of heavy goods vehicles will be restricted on weekends and official holidays.
Also, controls will be exercised to enforce the music schedule and punish noise level violators. Police officers are now equipped with noise measurement devices.
Meanwhile, in addition to the plan of measures, the Director General of the State Police has ordered the establishment of field service monitoring groups for the rigorous implementation of the Code of Ethics by every police officer, in communication and in action.
The State Police remains committed to guaranteeing public order and security, and invites citizens to cooperate and report any illegality on the toll-free number 112.
