The Ministry of Defense reports that the fire situation in the country is more stabilized today. Over the last 24 hours, 57 fires have been reported, of which 29 are active.

In the municipality of Delvinë, work continues on the fire in Syrin i Kaltër. The fire remains active on the heights of Sopot Mountain. The fire in the village of Kuç, Horë-Vranisht administrative unit, Himarë municipality, continues in an area of bushes and forests, while firefighting forces are operating.

In the village of Plasnik in the Berat region, due to the high intensity of the fire and strong winds, several homes were seriously endangered and 20 residents were evacuated. Today, 2 helicopters from the United Arab Emirates and 2 helicopters operating in the Gramsh municipality also went to assist the ground forces.

Today, since the early hours of the morning, work has continued to extinguish the fire that broke out in the village of Kullollas, Skënderbegës administrative unit, Gramsh municipality, in a forest area. In addition to the forces on the ground, 2 helicopters (Czech and Slovak) participated in the air operations.

In the municipality of Fushë Arrëz, in the village of Xath, work has continued to extinguish the fire and bring it under control. The fire has also endangered the village of Trun, on the top of Kunor Dardhës, in a very rugged mountainous terrain. Currently, ground forces and the AF helicopter are operating.

65 firefighting vehicles and 1,143 operational forces were deployed in the firefighting operations, assisted by the Armed Forces with 409 military forces, 23 firefighting vehicles and 3 helicopters from the Armed Forces. 7 helicopters and 1 Canadair aircraft from Italy also participated.

Meanwhile, the State Police announces that from June to August 14, 137 arsonists have been identified, of whom 46 have been arrested, while 91 have been criminally prosecuted.
