"Faith Park", 12 studios in the final competition - Rama: It is not a symbol of religion, but a place of worship

The final of the international competition for the Park of Faith took place in Petrela, a unique project that aims to build a public space dedicated to interfaith harmony, through nature and spiritual symbolism.
Twelve finalist teams selected from the United Kingdom, Portugal, Denmark, Germany, Spain, Mexico, Belgium, the Netherlands and Italy presented their concepts for this innovative park.
Prime Minister Edi Rama said that this park is not a symbol of religion, but a reconnection with the roots.
"This is much more than changing a space, I believe it is a meaningful transformation and it is not about erasing the past, but about taking it, serving it, we want to plant trees, we want to plant hope and continuity."
"Faith Park is not a symbol of religion, quite the opposite; it is a place of worship that does not ask questions about what you believe, but rather invites you to come and marvel at the silent endurance of the fig trees, to notice the shape of the olive trees in the wind, and to understand what our ancestors understood, that development was not just a backdrop, it was actually scripture."
The head of government considered the cultural heritage and religious coexistence in the country as a rare asset.
"And we Albanians, by the way, do not need to invent tolerance, because we have long been born into it, we have grown from it. Our cities have grown with mosques, churches, tekkes and monasteries side by side. What happened to all of them in that dark period, where religion was sought to be eradicated from this earth with dynamite, had a much greater lesson in why we need tolerance. And of course, as I said, our heritage has not always been easy, but it has been wise, wise to the point where Pope Francis rightly baptized it as religious brotherhood. The wisdom of living together is acquired, and so is inertia."
The area where the "Faith Park" will be built is 210 thousand square meters. The project will be designed to welcome 30 thousand visitors per year, and within it there will be structures that will serve for small events but also for events with a capacity of up to 500 people. Everything built within this park will be with the symbols of each faith.
Also within the park will be built a 'Museum of Memory' dedicated to the victims of religious persecution under the communist regime.
