''Mountain Package'', Fier and Gjirokastra announce 17 investment zones/ Aiming to support economic, industrial and tourist development

The municipalities of Gjirokastër and Fier have declared "Priority Areas for the Development of the Mountain Economy", within the framework of the implementation of the law "On the Mountain Package".
The decision aims to promote economic, industrial and tourist development in these territories, through the creation of more favorable conditions for investment and sustainable local development.
In the municipality of Fier, eight priority areas have been declared, spread over the administrative units of Libofshë, Cakran, Dërmenas, Frakull, Levan, Mbrostar Ura, Portëz and Qendër, with a total area of over 16 thousand hectares. Meanwhile, in the municipality of Gjirokastra, nine priority areas have been declared, including the villages of Fushëbardhë, Zhulat, Asim Zeneli, Golem, Kolonjë, Krinë, Tranoshisht, Erind, Nokovë, Mingul and Shtëpëz, with an area of over 1500 hectares.
In these areas, activities related to economic, industrial and tourist development will be supported, with the aim of increasing the potential of the territory and creating more development opportunities for the community. The Ministry of Economy and Innovation, the State Cadastre Agency, as well as the municipalities of Fier and Gjirokastër have been tasked with implementing this decision.
But while accusations have been made about this initiative that it will be used for property alienation, Minister Ervin Demo rejected them, saying that the 'Mountain Package' aims at local economic development, and does not include properties that are in individual ownership. A month ago, Prime Minister Rama declared that no mayor will be re-nominated unless they sign at least 10 investment contracts through
