"Mountain Package", 40 municipalities designate priority areas - Waste treatment in tourist areas, Gonxha: High level of cleaning is aimed for

The number of municipalities that have designated priority areas for the mountain package has reached 40. State Minister for Local Government, Ervin Demo, announced that 4 more municipalities have recently been added, while the interest of citizens applying is increasing.
"Today we continued with the approval of the priority areas of the municipalities. There are 4 more municipalities that have approved the priority areas and we are now going to the number of 40 municipalities. Interest in the Mountains package has increased. A good part of the municipalities will approve with the approval of the municipal council. What we find is that the municipalities themselves are noticing an increased interest of residents and Albanians who have strong ties to certain places. With the approval of the last 4 municipalities, we will continue at a fast pace", said Demo.
The Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports, Blendi Gonxhja, when asked about the treatment of waste in tourist areas and the lack of water, said that the problems have been addressed and measures are being taken by the relevant institutions.
"The creation of the new ministry has brought institutional reorganization. Concrete steps have been taken by the Ministry of Environment. In the framework of improving services for cleaning coastal areas.
A contract has been added that also includes Lezha and Pogradec. A better level of cleaning is aimed for, especially during the tourist season. Schedules are being set for waste management ," Gonxhe said.
