79,409 envelopes with ballots from abroad are being counted – What are the preliminary results?
The vote counting process for the May 11 parliamentary elections is currently continuing with the counting of envelopes from voters abroad, while the counting of votes within the country concluded last evening.
In total, 79,409 envelopes from the diaspora were counted out of a total of 194,889.
According to the results published by the Central Election Commission as of 09:00, 42,492 votes are for the Socialist Party, while 22,481 votes are for the Democratic Party-Alliance for a Greater Albania.
· The "Shqipëria Doser Initiative" coalition received 6,670 votes.
· The "Opportunity" party received 2,781 votes.
· "Together Movement" received 2,067 votes.
· The Social Democratic Party received 880 votes.
· The Euro-Atlantic Coalition Party received 546 votes.
Last evening, the State Election Commissioner, Ilirjan Celiabshi, said that 35% of the total had been counted and according to him, the count for the Kukës region has been completed, excluding 71 envelopes that came from the Greek state.
Regarding the re-evaluation of envelopes received from the Greek state, Celibashi responded that, "we need to identify envelopes that are not subject to the counting process."
He announced that by the end of the week we will have the final result of the vote of Albanians abroad, which will be added to the national one.
