Tirana International Airport (TIA) and SKY Express inaugurated the new destination Heraklion (Crete), strengthening air connections between Albania and Greece.

The ceremony took place at the airfield, in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Ms. Belinda Balluku, representatives of the Embassy of Greece, the Embassy of Albania in Greece, SKY Express and TIA.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Balluku, this line will be a new bridge between Albania and Crete, which will serve thousands of Albanians who live and work there, but will also bring more visitors to our country. "TIA is growing every day, now with 118 active destinations and a new record on the horizon, 12 million passengers this year," Balluku emphasized.

Speeches were given by Mr. Georgios Baliouskas, Mr. Piervittorio Farabbi and Ms. Manjola Kaso, emphasizing the growing cooperation and expansion of services in the Albanian market.

The new route to Heraklion will operate twice a week, every Tuesday and Saturday, and will be available all year round, offering passengers a convenient connection to one of Greece's most popular destinations.
