Albanian producers towards the EU market, quality "opens the doors" - UNIDO Forum, support for agribusinesses to meet European requirements

Albania is taking a decisive step towards strengthening competitiveness and preparing agribusinesses for sustainable growth towards the European and global markets, as well as fulfilling the ambition to reach the level of 1 billion euros in exports by 2030.
The 3rd National Forum on Quality and Standards, organized by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in collaboration with the Albanian Agribusiness Council (AAC), brought together key stakeholders to advance the role of quality as a strategic factor for export success and EU integration.
UNIDO, through the Global Quality and Standards Programme (GQSP), supported by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), plays a key role in supporting Albania's efforts to build a modern Quality Infrastructure system.
This includes technical assistance, policy guidance and capacity building to help agribusinesses achieve certification, ensure traceability and meet the strict requirements of EU consumers.
A master's degree dedicated to standards and quality will now be offered at the Agricultural University of Tirana, as a contribution to strengthening the infrastructure in this sector.
On the other hand, the Albanian Agribusiness Council is also playing an important role in this process.
Held in parallel with the 5th MTEF Congress, the Forum brought together producers, associations, institutions and development partners to address the vital importance of standards and quality that Albanian products must meet in order to compete on a level playing field in the EU Single Market.
