Constructions with public funds under "magnifying glass" - Muçaj: Be exemplary entities, they will be penalized for development permits
The State Labor Inspectorate has focused on the construction sector, launching an in-depth inspection campaign in all projects financed with public funds. Chief Inspector Eljo Muçaj emphasizes that these entities must respect strict occupational safety rules and guarantee the formalization of labor relations.
"The construction sector will have priority. Currently, as we speak, we are implementing a ministerial order where we will inspect in detail all those entities or projects that are being developed with public money. This means that those entities that benefit from public funds must be exemplary entities or must be in full compliance with the security protocol and issues related to the formality of the employment relationship."
The Chief Inspector warns of strict measures in case of repeated violations, up to and including penalties in future for development permits and applications for public works.
"In case repeated violations are identified in these entities, measures will be taken against them that will also affect their future profitability of public funds and contracts with the Albanian state. With public money, they cannot produce accidents or informal working relationships. And this will continue."
In addition to construction, the Inspectorate aims to combat informality in all other economic sectors, in cooperation with relevant institutions and authorities.
"Job safety will be extended to the entire construction sector, and informality will be extended to all other sectors of the economy, where we assess, based on our analysis, where there is a high, unacceptable presence of informality, and this will be done in cooperation with other institutions and other authorities."
