Lighting and greenery on the Tirana-Durrës highway/ The winning company is announced, the offer is about 31% lower than the limit fund

The Albanian Road Authority has announced the winner of the tender for the completion of works and aesthetic improvement of the Tirana - Durrës highway, in the segment from Shqiponja Square to the Limuthi underpass. The contract was awarded to the joint venture of the companies “Fusha”, “Udha” and “Taulant” shpk, which submitted a bid worth 908.4 million lek or about 31% lower than the limit fund of 1.3 billion lek.
The contract aims to complete the works and improve the aesthetics of the expanded segment of the Tirana - Durrës highway, from Shqiponja Square to the Limuthi underpass, part of which has already been opened to traffic, while works are still ongoing in other sections.
According to the tender documents, the interventions will focus mainly on greenery along the highway, through the arrangement of existing surfaces and the creation of new green spaces, as well as the planting of decorative trees and shrubs on the medians and sides of the road.
Another important component of the contract is related to the improvement of street lighting and safety elements. The technical report foresees the installation of high-efficiency LED lights with a lifespan of up to 100 thousand hours, as well as the placement of new lighting poles along the entire segment.
In addition to greenery and lighting, the contract also includes the decorative cladding of the underpass walls in the area of the former Shqiponja Square, as well as the resurfacing of asphalt layers in the worn-out segments, which according to documents have not undergone any intervention for more than a decade.
