"Monitoring the food market" - Ibrahimaj: We will subsidize the needy if there are further price increases
Fruit and vegetable prices are under the monitoring of the Albanian government, while the Minister of Economy and Innovation Delina Ibrahimaj said that 80 products in the basket are also under monitoring.
"We are monitoring prices on a daily basis, only the vegetable category has increased, and no other product in the basket has increased. Inflation in March marked 2.6%, which is a controlled level. In the past, we have subsidized, and if prices increase again, we will intervene with an act that will provide for price subsidies for the needy."
Asked by journalists if there will be a change to the turnover tax, Minister Ibrahimaj gave this answer.
"We do not think there is a need for intervention in the circulation tax. The circulation tax is not collected in this form because we have it easier, the circulation tax is collected because it is more fair to collect it in this form. After all, the one who consumes more fuel is the one who has to pay more circulation tax."
