5 ALL and 10 ALL metal coins will be reprinted at legal tender - BSH Supervisory Council: Goal, meeting the economy's requirements for money
The Supervisory Council of the Bank of Albania approved the reprinting of Albanian metal coins with legal tender, in denominations of 5 Lek and 10 Lek.
This decision foresees the reprinting of these coins with legal tender, in order to meet the demands of the economy for money, in terms of value and structure, as well as ensuring a regular supply of them, for a period of several years.
The Supervisory Council was also informed of other information related to the daily functional and operational activities of the Bank of Albania.
Issuing coins has great benefits for individuals and financial organizations, improving security, facilitating transactions and facilitating the management of personal finances.
The Bank of Albania draws up the plan for the issuance of banknotes and national currencies, ensuring the supply and fulfillment of the demands of the Albanian economy with money. It also draws up the policy of withdrawing from circulation the banknotes and coins it has issued, against the exchange with banknotes and coins of new issues.
The Bank of Albania determines the form, dimensions, appearance and other characteristics of banknotes and national currencies with legal tender.
Legal tender means that notes and coins can be offered in payment of a liability and the recipient is bound to accept them, without limitation, at their face value.
