Fewer transactions with banking applications - BSH: The value of home banking transactions fell by 5.6% in September
Albanians are making fewer and fewer transactions through banking applications. Official data from the Bank of Albania show that during the month of September, around 800,000 home banking transactions were made, or 0.3% less than in August. After reaching the record figure of 878 thousand banking operations in July, the downward trend began in August, to deepen in September.
With the decrease in the number, the value of the transactions was also lower. Specifically, the value of banking operations with home banking decreased by 5.6%. The greater drop in value, rather than number, also indicates that amounts paid through banking applications were smaller in September.
At the end of the ninth month, the total number of transactions has reached almost 6.8 million, while the value of the actions results in 1.7 billion ALL.
Despite the fact that the months of August and September had a negative balance in terms of the number and value of home banking transactions, the year 2024 is not over yet, which means that with the last 3 months of the year, the record of the year of more than 7.6 million transactions and a value of 2 billion ALL.
Home banking refers to making transactions from home through banking applications, to make money transfers, pay taxes, electricity, water, telephone bills, police fines, credit card payments and more, without the need of presentation in physical branches of banks.
