'Over 560 thousand visitors to cultural sites' - Gonxha: 74% increase compared to 2023!
The Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja, made public today the statistics on the visitation of cultural sites in the first half of the year.
Our cultural sites welcomed 569,089 visitors during the period January-June 2025. The increase is estimated at 74% compared to 2023, while in terms of revenues, they have increased by 119% compared to 2023.
The 5 favorite destinations of visitors are:
– Butrint Archaeological Park, with 105,623 visitors;
– Gjirokaster Castle, with 92,999 visitors;
– Shkodra Archaeological Park, with 79,885 visitors;
– “Gjergj Kastrioti” Museum, Kruja, with 74,636 visitors;
– Apollon Archaeological Park, with 58,059 visitors.
Most tourists seem to prefer visiting archaeological parks, followed by national museums and fortresses and other cultural monuments.
With the start of the tourist season, visiting hours have been extended until 7:00 PM at all cultural sites.
