Over 32 thousand vehicles inspected in January - DPSHTRR: 882 depreciated vehicles deregistered

The General Directorate of Road Transport Services announces that during January 2026, over 32,991 vehicles were inspected throughout the country, marking an increase of 19% compared to January 2025. This indicator testifies to a growing awareness among citizens about the importance of vehicle technical inspection.
The checks aim to guarantee road safety standards, preventing accidents that may be caused by technical defects. Meanwhile, a significant portion of the vehicles checked have resulted in technical deficiencies, but after carrying out the necessary repairs, they have returned to circulation, meeting the required safety parameters. DPSHTTR emphasizes that road safety begins with a vehicle that has been checked and in good technical condition.
In parallel with the controls, 882 old and depreciated vehicles were finally deregistered this month. This process is considered an important step towards reducing road risks, but also towards improving air quality and environmental protection, as depreciated vehicles are among the main sources of pollution.
DPSHTRR calls on citizens to be responsible and book their technical inspection appointment online through the e-Albania platform, with the aim of increasing road safety standards in the country.
