Over 20 million lek investment in Dhërmi, Drimadhë and Palasë/ Towards an integrated water supply and sewage system, two tenders are opened

The Regional Water Supply and Sewerage Company Vlora JSC has announced the opening of the competition for the study and design of water supply for the coastal areas, Draleos, Drimadhës and Dhërmi Phase IV.
According to the document in the Public Procurement Agency, this project aims to design the drinking water supply system in the areas of Draleos (Palasë), Drimadhë, Dhërmi. Meanwhile, the limit fund foreseen for this investment is 20 million and 823 thousand lekë.
The project envisages the extension of the transmission line (continuation of previous projects, Phase IV), as well as the distribution network for the beneficiary areas. Phase IV aims to expand the system towards the strategic tourist development areas of Draleos, Drimadhë and Dhërmi.
According to the document, the main goal of this investment is to guarantee a sustainable, safe and sufficient supply of drinking water for the coastal areas of Draleos, Drimadhë, Dhërmi. This initiative aims to improve the existing water supply infrastructure by designing a modern, efficient and suitable system for population growth, tourism growth and the needs of local communities.
According to the document, an assessment of the existing distribution network and current water storage facilities will be carried out, while new distribution networks and new storage facilities will be designed, necessary to meet demand during the summer season.
One of the most important parts of the project is the extension of the transmission line from the Palasa tunnel exit to Dhërmi.
In addition to water supply, the Regional Water Supply and Sewerage Company Vlorë J.A. has opened a competition for the study-design of the wastewater collection system in the Drimadhë area and the construction of a wastewater treatment plant. The limit fund for this procedure is 19 million and 477 thousand lekë.
This project aims to create an integrated sewage system and modern wastewater treatment for the tourist areas of Palasa and Drimadha, which in recent years have experienced a significant increase in residential construction, hotels and tourist resorts.
Currently, there are only partial sewerage networks, which are not connected to a common transfer system to treatment plants. The new project envisages the construction of a unified sewerage network, the verification of the existing capacities of pumping stations and the design of a wastewater treatment plant. This investment is important for the protection of the environment, as well as for the preservation of the tourist potential of the Southern Riviera.
The lack of proper distribution networks, the rapid expansion of the area in recent years and the lack of water storage reservoirs make these areas particularly vulnerable to droughts and seasonal pollution. Therefore, the construction of their distribution networks and water storage facilities are an integral part of this project, the Public Procurement Agency document emphasizes.
