CEC tests electronic identification devices - Pelinku: PEI will be used in 5225

"The Central Election Commission this Monday began testing electronic identification devices that will be used for the parliamentary elections on May 11. These devices will be used in 5,225 voting centers, but what are the costs that this process has encountered?"

"I believe you are familiar with this procedure, there are 3% of all devices, the entire total amount of electronic identification devices that will be used at the national level. About 150 devices have been randomly selected and all functionalities will be tested. At the national level, there are 5538 devices, including the reserve quantity. There are 5225 voting centers, at the moment we are talking because there is also the procedure for recruiting operators, so we must have every voting center covered with operators. At the moment we are talking, we have 31 voting centers, for which there were no applications that we were unable to select operators. The value is somewhere around 1.1 million dollars because we had additional services, maintenance for those devices that resulted in the need for maintenance and replacement of parts, etc.", said Lealba Pelinku, Deputy Commissioner of the Central Election Commission.

Representatives of political parties, civil society, etc. may be present in the process of testing electronic identification devices.
