"KAYO" towards partnership for the unmanned vehicle industry - Government approves conditions for public-private cooperation in drone production

The Council of Ministers has approved the decision to determine the terms of negotiation of the state-owned company "KAYO" with private partners, with the aim of creating a joint stock company in the unmanned aerial vehicle industry. According to the decision, the company "KAYO" will hold no less than 25% of the shares in this cooperation, while it will contribute real estate with an area of at least 1,000 square meters, which will be made available for the activity of the new company.
On the other hand, the private partner must guarantee a minimum investment of 30 million euros within three years, as well as the creation of at least 35 new jobs in the same period. It must also provide technological lines for the production of unmanned vehicles and a distribution network for export. The scope of activity of the new company will include the production, assembly, repair and marketing of unmanned aerial vehicles, while its management will be carried out in cooperation between the parties. The administrator will be selected with the agreement of “KAYO”, while at least 30% of the management structures will be appointed by the state party.
The decision also provides for the right of veto for the state-owned company “KAYO” on certain issues, as well as the guarantee of the physical security of personnel and infrastructure by the Armed Forces. This development comes within the framework of the law on the establishment of a state-owned company for the production and trade of military equipment and technologies, aiming to increase the production and technological capacities in the country.
