Within the framework of the Public Administration Week, held under the motto of building a modern administration at the service of citizens and the European integration process, the main initiatives that will guide the next phase of public administration reform in Albania were presented.

The Minister of State for Public Administration, Adea Pirdeni, emphasized that the priority remains investing in human capital, increasing institutional performance, and aligning the Albanian administration with the best standards of the European Union.

Among the announced initiatives, the strengthening of cooperation with career offices in Albanian universities stands out, with the aim of creating stronger bridges between students and public administration, making civil service an increasingly attractive choice for young professionals.

Another important development is the creation, in collaboration with ASPA, of the Welcome Program for new civil servants. This program aims to facilitate their integration into public institutions, strengthen organizational culture and support professional development from the first days of service.

In order to prepare the administration for membership in the European Union, a new cooperation program with the EU will also be implemented to consolidate the European work culture in the public administration. The program will contribute to increasing professional and administrative capacities to fulfill the obligations arising from the negotiation process. In this context, an agreement will also be signed with the European Commission, which will enable Albanian officials to work for certain periods at the institutions of the European Union, gaining direct experience and bringing new expertise to the Albanian public administration.

Another pillar of the reform remains the implementation of the new model of state administration organization, recently approved by the Assembly, which aims to increase accountability, clarify institutional responsibilities, and improve the effectiveness of public administration.

In parallel, the deepening of the digitalization of processes in the administration will continue, as well as the further implementation of the salary reform, with the aim of consolidating a modern, professional and innovative public administration, at the service of citizens and in line with European standards.
