New investments for roads, bridges and public safety - 10 million euros for the prevention and management of natural disasters
The list of winning projects to be implemented during 2025 for the prevention and management of natural disasters has been approved.
The decision was published in the Official Gazette and includes 53 investments with a total value of around 10 million euros. For 2025, it is expected that around 33% of the works will be completed, while the fund for this year is 344 million lek, or approximately 3.4 million euros.
The contracting authorities for these projects will be the respective municipalities where the investments will be carried out. The projects include the construction of bridges in several municipalities, such as Gjirokastra, Kavaja and Selenica, to ease traffic and improve infrastructure.
Also, part of the financing will be used to purchase new road vehicles, such as fire engines, snowplows and other vehicles needed for civil emergencies. A significant segment of the investment will go to the construction of retaining walls along river beds, with the aim of preventing flooding during heavy rainfall.
In addition to the Prevention and Management of Natural Disasters, 5 projects for the rehabilitation of dams and watersheds will also be implemented. The total value of these projects will be 300 million lek, of which 132 million lek will be financed during 2025.
The Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Defense, the National Civil Protection Agency and the relevant municipalities will be engaged in the implementation and supervision of these projects.
