Investment for the road traffic electrical network - OSSH, finances 94 million lek for the intelligent system
The Regional Directorate of OSSH Tirana has announced the opening of the tender for the construction of a cable line for the supply of electricity to the Road Traffic Monitoring and Control System, along the road segments: Tirana -Durrës; Tirana-Elbasan; Shkozet-Plepa Bypass; Durrës-Rrogozhinë, Rrogozhinë-Lushnje.
According to the document at the Public Procurement Agency, these areas represent axes of high importance for traffic flow and road safety, where the installation of surveillance cabinets is necessary for effective supervision and dynamic traffic management.
The estimated limit fund is 94 million 206 thousand lekë. Referring to the document, the implementation of this project is necessary to guarantee the uninterrupted and safe operation of road surveillance equipment, which includes cameras, control cabinets and traffic measurement systems, installed along strategic segments of the national road network.
Among other things, this project aims to enable the supply of electricity to the Road Traffic Monitoring and Control System, within the framework of the implementation of the contract with the object: "Traffic Monitoring Center (200 km) - Phase One", referring to the official request of the Albanian Road Authority (ARRSH sh.a) and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy.
On the other hand, in most of the axes involved, the existing electrical network is missing or does not guarantee quality and continuity of supply. This situation requires infrastructural interventions for the construction of medium voltage networks, transformer cabins and low voltage networks, dedicated to supplying the monitoring system cabins.
The areas or road segments where this project will be extended are Tirana–Durrës (Qafë Kashar–Rinas–Ahmetaq); Durrës – Rrogozhinë (Shkozet–Plepa Overpass) Rrogozhinë–Vlorë; Tirana–Elbasan. The document specifies that, during the field verification of the cabinet points, it was observed that some of these cabinets have the possibility of being supplied with electricity, and it was also evidenced that in a considerable part there is no electrical network. This is because the road segments are new and pass outside urban areas, for this reason the electrical network is missing.
To supply these cabinets, the project foresees the construction of medium voltage lines and transformer cabins, as well as the corresponding low voltage network. The new network, which will be built, will also serve the development of the areas' prospects. These interventions will provide an infrastructure dedicated to the electrical supply of the monitoring system, meeting the technical and operational requirements of the project.
