At a time when the safety and protection of workers remain a permanent challenge in the Albanian labor market, the State Labor Inspectorate has published data for July 2025, which shows a significant increase in field interventions.

During this month, 926 entities were inspected throughout the country, with the main focus on compliance with the law on labor relations, safety conditions and employee registration.

In total, over 20,000 workplaces have been inspected, a figure that testifies to the intensification of inspections, especially in high-risk sectors such as construction, fabrication, and services.

Of these inspections, 244 were carried out in an advisory manner, helping entities improve their work practices without taking punitive measures in the first phase. However, in 643 cases administrative measures were taken, including fines, temporary suspensions of activity, or obligations for urgent improvements in the workplace.

Additionally, 88 complaints from employees were handled, mainly for violation of the employment contract, lack of social security, or overtime without additional pay.

The Inspectorate announces that controls will continue with high intensity in the coming months, in the context of the tourist season and the commitment to formalizing the labor market, a challenge that remains current for the Albanian economy.

Meanwhile, according to data from the General Directorate of Taxes, as a result of efforts to collect contributions, 15.77 billion lek were collected in July alone, or 1.82 billion lek more than in July 2024.
