Labor Inspectorate, 54 million lek fines to businesses - Over 190 thousand workplaces to be inspected in 2024
The State Labor Inspectorate conducts inspections in entities every month with the aim of punishing illegalities and informality, and handles complaints.
According to official data, a total of 982 entities were inspected in December 2024. An increased number of inspections is noted, also due to the call that the government has made as part of the anti-informality campaign to businesses.
But how did the year 2024 end in terms of inspections, measures taken, and handling of complaints? According to official data from the Labor Inspectorate, a total of 9,860 entities were inspected during the year we left behind.
Meanwhile, the inspectorate has conducted inspections of 190,340 workplaces. Consulting businesses is one of the priorities of the anti-informality campaign, to minimize penalties, so inspectors have conducted 1,733 advisory inspections.
On the other hand, referring to the same data, it is estimated that a total of 690 complaints addressed to the Labor Inspectorate were handled.
In addition to advising businesses, for those enterprises that are considered problematic, or that are found to be illegal during inspections, administrative measures have been taken. And in total, over the course of a year, the Labor Inspectorate has taken 3433 administrative measures as a result of illegalities that may have been found. But what is the value of the sanctions taken? In 210 fines, their value has reached 53,770,000 lek.
