Ibrahimaj: The White Paper, a roadmap for strategies for Albania's economic development

The Minister of Economy and Innovation, Delina Ibrahimaj, participated in the presentation of the "White Paper", an event organized by the Foreign Investors Association (FIAA), where she emphasized the importance of this document as a strategic roadmap for economic policy and cooperation with the business community.
Minister Ibrahimaj noted that the "White Paper" is a key instrument for drafting laws and policies based on the recommendations of the business community, ensuring that government decision-making is oriented towards real market needs and European Union standards.
"This is my second White Paper, in which I am a part, and I am very happy to be able to contribute to the inclusion of recommendations for different sectors and policy areas in our joint work. The new White Paper will be a very useful guide for the years to come", declared Minister Ibrahimaj.
She also emphasized that the year 2025 has marked positive results for the Albanian economy, with increased investments, exports and employment, as well as a decrease in unemployment and an increase in the number of businesses operating in the country. Minister Ibrahimaj emphasized that these results indicate a favorable climate for business and the adaptive strength of its community.
The Minister also outlined the challenges for 2026, mentioning the EU integration process, the implementation of planned reforms and the need for close cooperation with the business community to achieve the standards of the European common market. She informed that the MEI is working on strategic documents, such as the export program and the industrial program, that will guide the development of economic sectors in line with the EU industrial policy.
"We will be there to help the business community achieve the required standards, increase productivity and competitiveness. The business community, Albanian and foreign, will be our main supporter on this journey," added Minister Ibrahimaj.
She concluded by thanking FIAA and all stakeholders involved for their work in providing research-based recommendations, assuring that MEI will structure the work to follow up on these recommendations in the coming years.
