International design competition - For the “New Children's Home and the New Complex of State Inspectorates”

The second phase of the International Competition for the design of the "New Children's Home & New State Inspectorate Complex" has begun, where the finalist studios are presenting their projects before the international jury, which will determine the winning project among proposals with outstanding architectural, urban and, above all, social values.
Prime Minister Edi Rama was present at the opening of this competition phase, and he praised the importance of this process as part of a new approach to the development of public spaces and the inclusion of contemporary architecture in the service of the public interest.
"Today, with this project, we pave the way for two new directions for the future, creating completely new conditions for children who are in the hands of society's solidarity, orphans, and at the same time for the new corps of inspectorates, and on this occasion I would like to thank the chief inspector who for 10 consecutive years led an institution that was truly born from nothing and was created from scratch, and which today is ready to take another leap."
Having said all this, I would also like to congratulate all the local studios that are present here as partners of international studios, because while projects are being developed, while new agreements are being signed, and while Albania has become a reference point in the world of contemporary architecture as a country with a large concentration of international architects with many voices, Albania is also an open university that gives opportunities to all young Albanian architects, that gives opportunities to new studios in Albania, through direct cooperation with these masters and these large, experienced studios, to gain knowledge and gain experience that no university or work placement in a foreign studio can give you."
The competition was organized by the Albanian Investment Corporation in order to further create conditions to benefit from public-private partnerships for new spaces for public functions.
