During the General meeting of the Assembly, the president of the Chamber focused on the need for cooperation with the government in order to properly address business issues and improve the business climate.

"Do what you can to absorb foreign capital. There are several multi-billion dollar American investments waiting to come to Albania as soon as certain infrastructural conditions are met," he said.

Charged with work at the American Embassy, Nancy VanHorn focused on some of the concrete reforms that must be undertaken, stressing the need for verification of investments made in Albania.

"We believe it is essential to avoid investments that may not be in line with Albanian priorities, or worse, that may pose some national security risks down the road," VanHorn said.

Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation Blendi Gonxhja was also present at the meeting of the assembly, who focused on the reforms undertaken in the direction of improving the business climate.

"We must be the most hospitable country for foreign and American entrepreneurship in particular. For this reason, we are resolutely advancing many reforms, with the aim of further improving the business climate", said Gonxhja.

During his speech, Gonxhja said that the government is aiming to reduce corruption in tenders and increase competition between economic operators.
