'Anti-corruption is changing', the Government appoints the new director of DPAK
With a special decision of the Council of Ministers, Insidor Rexhepi has been appointed General Director of the General Directorate of Anticorruption. Lawyer Rexhepi will be the first leader of this government structure, the establishment of which was approved by the government at the end of June this year. The General Anticorruption Directorate's mission is to ensure the prevention and attack of corruption in state administration institutions/public entities/commercial companies with state capital. DPAK will conduct administrative investigations for cases suspected of abusive or corrupt practices. One of its duties is to carry out administrative investigations in the framework of denunciations or complaints about abusive, corrupt or arbitrary practices for the implementation of legality, as well as the identification of employees of institutions where DPAK extends its activity, who, by actions or inactions , have committed violations of legal/sublegal acts in force', it was stated in the government's decision of June 26, 2024.
In the case of in-depth investigations, it may request the help of local and foreign experts who must maintain investigative secrecy. The director of this new unit is subordinate to the minister responsible for anti-corruption, in the role of the National Coordinator against Corruption. He answers to him and the prime minister.

In support of Article 100 of the Constitution and point 4, chapter III, of decision no. 436, dated 26.6.2024, of the Council of Ministers, "On the creation, organization and operation of the General Directorate of Anticorruption", with the proposal of Minister of State for Public Administration and Anticorruption, Council of Ministers
DECIDE:
1. Mr. Insidor Rexhepi is appointed General Director of the General Directorate of Anticorruption.
2. The Minister of State for Public Administration and Anticorruption and the General Directorate of Anticorruption are charged with the implementation of this decision.
This decision enters into force immediately and is published in the "Official Gazette".
