Investments in the energy network/ Ibrahimi: Next year we will focus on tourist areas
In the first 10 months of this year, data from OSHEE show that the level of losses in the energy network has dropped to 17.27%. The Director of the Department of Measurement and Balance, at the Distribution System Operator, Alban Ibrahimi says that in addition to the investments to improve the network, controls for illegal energy connections have also had an impact.
During this year, over 20,000 checks were carried out, of which 471 resulted in violations, including businesses and family subscribers.
Invited to the Box to Box show, Ibrahimi stopped at some of the projects that are expected to start next year. According to him, the tourist areas will be in focus.
"We are mainly focused on the development of the network and infrastructure of the distribution network in areas with high potential for tourism development and at the same time in areas with a high level of losses", Ibrahimi said.
The Director of the Department of Measurement and Balance, at the Distribution System Operator, also gave details on the project for the installation of smart meters.
"Currently, the installation of balance meters in 3,500 cabins has been completed and we have started the installation of meters in end consumers. So to connect the smart meter from the end consumer, to the cabin, feeder and to close the final balance along the energy transmission route" said Ibrahimi, among other things.
Regarding the government's plan to reduce the price of electricity, as was warned earlier by Prime Minister Rama and Deputy Prime Minister Balluku, Ibrahimi said that work is being done to improve the situation and the details will be forwarded at the beginning of December.
