Sustainable hunting and wildlife conservation - Changes to the law about to

The Draft Law "On Hunting" has been published for Public Consultation where its drafting improves the current law in some of its specific articles. The new draft guarantees the right to exercise hunting and hunting rights, and will encourage the involvement of hunters in monitoring, management and research in order to care for and preserve wild fauna and its habitat.

This law aims to determine the rules and requirements for the development of sustainable hunting, as a traditional, sporting, recreational and touristic activity, etc.

Also, one of the goals of this draft law is to provide mechanisms for the sustainable management of hunting, valuing wild fauna as a national asset that is administered and protected by law.

On the other hand, the goal remains to determine the measures for monitoring and control with the aim of guaranteeing that the principles for hunting are strictly applied, preserving the integrity of the ecosystem and the ecological balance.

Meanwhile, the main objectives that are intended to be achieved, that with the approval of this draft law, hunting will take place only in the permitted hunting areas and all other territories in the Republic of Albania will be excluded.

The special importance in this draft law is that the conservation of wild fauna will be able to provide opportunities for rural development and the sustainable use of wild animals, contributing significantly to the local and national economy.

Through this draft law, the aim is to encourage the contribution of hunters as actors of biodiversity by increasing the focus on a more sustainable hunting.

To focus on the financial effects, it is predicted that this draft law will not have additional financial effects on the state budget, as its implementation will not require additional funding from this budget.
