Urban redevelopment in Astir nears - 88.5 million lek investment for “Joklin Persi” and “Arben Mekshi” streets

The Municipality of Tirana has announced the opening of the competition for the construction of the “Arben Mekshi” and “Joklin Persi” roads. The estimated limit fund is 88 million and 599 thousand lekë.
According to the document in the Public Procurement Agency, the first road segment, “Joklin Persi” road, lies in the Astir roundabout area and has a length of 550 m. The width of the road is 3.5-4 m. Most of this road was repaired after 2018 and is paved with asphalt, but without the presence of sidewalks or other works to limit the road.
Meanwhile, the second road segment, "Arben Mekshi" road, connects to "Joklin Persi" road in the form of a ring and its length is 172m. The width of the road varies from 4-5m. The entire length of this segment lacks the complete asphalt package, with all its constituent elements. Accessibility to private homes via this road axis is quite difficult because the road is very damaged. There is also a lack of lighting in a good part of it.
According to the project, the entire block bordered by "Joklin Persi" and "Arben Mekshi" streets will be turned into an urban residential area in which automobile traffic will be improved through new interventions that are expected to be made by creating several new development areas.
Referring to the document, the entire block will be rehabilitated with all elements of the road infrastructure, with the aim of improving the quality of life of the community in this area, specifically the construction of road layers, sidewalks, lighting, sewerage and greenery.
Also, the construction of parking lots is foreseen, referring to regulations and actual spaces. All these elements will make it possible to create a very comfortable area for movement and living in residential areas that have access to the roads that are expected to be rehabilitated in District 14 in the capital.
