Better quality energy supply, intervention in Kashar - OSSH opens the competition, aiming to modernize the electrical network

The Regional Directorate of OSSH Tirana has announced the opening of the competition for the construction of cable collectors and the replacement of medium voltage cables of feeders F7 and F8 of the Kashar Substation, on the Tirana-Durres highway. The estimated limit fund for this investment is 64 million and 483 thousand lekë.
According to the document published by the Public Procurement Agency, the project extends to the Kashar area, from the Kashar 110/20 kV Substation, and includes an area of 6.54 km².
The area is currently supplied with medium voltage electricity from the existing 20 kV feeders, which originate from the 110/20 kV Kashar Substation. The investment aims to improve the quality of electricity supply through the construction of a new 20 kV medium voltage network from the 110/20 kV Kashar Substation. The project envisages the relocation and replacement of medium voltage cables
Meanwhile, according to the document, the area included in the project is part of the Municipality of Tirana and is characterized by both existing constructions, developed mainly before the 1990s, and new constructions. These subscribers will continue to be supplied by the same electricity network, but through improved medium voltage feeders, after the relocation and replacement of the existing network.
The document highlights problems in the quality of electricity supply. The distribution network in this area is assessed to be beyond technical conditions, as a result of numerous mergers carried out over a long period.
According to the project, the existing network needs to be relocated and replaced due to its technical condition and the need to adapt to the conditions set out in the relevant regulations. The construction of the new network is expected to increase the quality of distributed energy, reduce the number of defects and guarantee greater security in the use of the electrical network.
